About Sophia Sunshine
Thank you for taking out the time to visit my website—I pray that something speaks to you and blesses you here. My name is Sophia Sunshine Vilceus; as I grow older, I am learning that my name is something that I am avidly trying to live up to by being wise by His counsel and a light in His eyes. I am an ordinary woman who serves an extraordinary God that has done some extraordinary work in my life; I pray that work ministers to you in some way. I am a native New Yorker with roots in Haiti. I have been fortunate enough to earn degrees from CUNY City College of New York and Howard University where I studied English/Creative Writing, Ethnic Studies, African Studies, and Media Studies. Writing has always been my first love so it is very apropos that I was shaped into an English educator and Christian writer. Currently residing in Maryland, I am an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, Montgomery College, and Prince Georges Community College. Gratefully, I have been published in Heart and Soul Magazine and The Praying Woman but my greatest life work so far, I believe is my new best-selling book, The Last Pew: Journeying Back to God’s Will After an Affair, now available on Amazon & Barnes & Noble.
